24th february - tortilla chip day
What better way to celebrate Tortilla Day than by snuggling up on the sofa with a huge plate of cheesy nachos in front of a film? Or why not use this occasion as an opportunity to invite some friends over for Mexican-themed party with tequila and a spread of tortillas served all sorts of ways?
Making nachos at home is super easy to do, especially with an air fryer like our AF1. Rather than cranking up the big oven just for a plate of nachos that are so quick to cook, using an air fryer saves on time and energy. Simply add the ingredients to the air fryer basket, switch on and let the cheese bubble and melt to coat all of the chips.
When it's finished cooking, you'll have deliciously oozy tortilla chips which you can then top with a variety of toppings like jalapenos, sweetcorn, onions, tomato salsa, sour cream or guacamole. Scroll down to see how we made a tasty nacho dish with the AF1 air fryer.
Want a healthier alternative? Why not try making your own tortilla chips...
Of course you can buy tortilla chips already made in all kinds of flavours, cheesy, spicy, salty etc.. But if you have a little extra time, why not try making your own at home? Homemade air-fried tortilla chips are much healthier and insanely easy to make.
The best part of making them at home is that they are totally customisable to your own taste, so if you prefer to stay as healthy as possible you can eat them plain or with a little salt, or if you prefer more flavour you can go all out and enjoy a range of seasonings like garlic powder, paprika or even make up a mixture to taste like doritos!
